As most of you know, Molly was born with a rare chromosomal disorder Trisomy 12p and a blood disorder which resulted in a massive brain hemorrhaging at birth. Molly has a part of her brain missing due to this hemorrhage. She is developmentally delayed in every areas due to the hemorrhage and her diagnoses of Trisomy 12p. The prognoses for Molly's future had never been promising, that was until we were told of 'The Institutes for the achievement of Human Potential". In 2017, with money raised from so many near and afar, we were able to get Molly's medical needs assessed by expert specialists in person at 'The Institutes for the achievement for Human potential' in Philadelphia, America. We came home with a specialised program for Molly and had been working hard on it daily up until the birth of Molly's brother, Snowy in April 2019. We are more than ready to pick up where we left off. 'Doman International' are the team behind our success. Being the founders of The Institute, they are a not-for-profit organisation internationally recognised for their pioneering work in child brain development and programs to help brain injured children achieve wellness and reach their full potential developmentally. When we first started this program back in 2016 Molly was 17 months old but neurologically she was only 5 months of age. When Molly was last assessed in December of 2018 she was 45 months old and neurologically she was 22.6 months. WE ARE CATCHING UP!!! She has made extreme gains in her sight and auditory ability. She is reading with total understanding and can recognise over 2000 words and simple sentences. She has also read over 100 home-made books. She has had victories in her tactile ability and language and manual competence also. We are so proud of all her hard work. We now want to concentrate on her mobility. We find this the hardest part of Molly's program to for-fill but we are determined to get our girl moving independently and we know we will make great gains in this department with the hard work we plan to put in. We hope to make part of our home Molly's program room. We work on Molly's program daily in every area of our home. To have a designated area just for her and all of the equipment we use and will use in the future will allow us to have the space needed to continue to work on Molly's development. All funds raised will help support Molly in her every day life. It will allow us to get her health and development evaluated on a regular basis with Doman International and to purchase anything required to aid in her brain development. We will be able to complete Molly's program room. The funds will allow us the time needed 7 days a week to work with Molly in every area of her neurological development without the financial burden and underlying worry of every day life. The truth is we need help. Emotionally, physically and financially. We can't do this on our own and we thank each and every one of you for helping us in the past and for the many that will continue to help us well into the future. HEARTS LIKE WILDFLOWERS I hope you are blessed with a heart like a wildflower Strong enough to rise again after being trampled on, tough enough to weather the worst of the summer storms, and able to grow and flourish even in the most broken of places. ---------------------- Nikita Gill Let's get this girl moving xo
